Unfortunate Back to Back Loss for Randy Meyer
Written by Megan Meyer
Norwalk, OH – Randy Meyer and his team spent the previous weekend racing in Norwalk, Ohio for the NHRA Summit Racing Nationals on June 24-26.

Friday was full of rain, not letting anyone qualify. Therefore, Randy had to run two qualifying runs on Saturday followed by first round of eliminations on the same night. He qualified well at 5th place with a 5.40 and a 5.41. This paired him up against “The Medicine Man” Jerry Powell.

Randy Meyer sadly lost as he smoked the tires, having to get off and on the throttle, running a 5.53, but was unable to catch Powell as he ran a 5.41.

“After having such a good start, we have unfortunately experienced back to back first round losses. We are determined to not be let down and will try our hardest to go rounds at the next race in Chicago.” Randy said.

Despite his repeat from Tulsa of loosing first round, he finished the weekend with a fun day at the Cedar Point amusement park for the family before heading home to regroup.

The next race for the Randy Meyer Racing team will be July 8-10 in Chicago for the O’Reilly Route 66 Nationals.
